Landscape Modeling and Analysis

Landscape Modeling and Analysis

Our specificity lies in our attempt to combine different « visions » of a single landscape; some corresponding to a landscape ecology definition, others to the definition of a geographical unit. In this sense, to describe a landscape requires one first to integrate and diversity of points of view. How can this integration be achieved ?

Through the general research theme of « Landscape », we propose a specific discussion of the methods, techniques, tools and concepts used to describe, analyse and simulate this complex object that can be the foundation for multi-functionality. This discussion involves:

  • The use of geomatic tools for mapping areas and their dynamics and for calculating landscape metrics (e.g. Chloé software)
  • The development of methods and tools for modelling (e.g. APILand simulation models).
