DIVERSIT’HAIES : Associating hedgerows and organic farming at various spatial scales, a lever for plant diversity conservation and integrated weed management in agroforestry landscapes?

Context and objectives:

Integrated weed management is one of the major issues for the development of wildlife-friendly agriculture. In this context, the general objective of my postdoctoral work (DIVERSIT'HAIES project) is to assess the effect of hedgerows and organic farming at local and landscape scales on plant communities, in order to optimize the compromise between biodiversity conservation and weed management. A second part of the postdoctoral work is focused on the measurement of weed seed flows in situ (particularly from crop fields towards hedgerows, which are largely under-studied), with the aim of quantifying the barrier effect to weed dispersal potentially provided by hedgerows.
